This could be a good alternative to Milkshape... certainly it is more powerful. The OpenSource part is very good.

I noticed that the Blender API is in Python... it seems there would be possibilities between my TGEPython work and Blender... I'll have to investigate at some point...

A few months ago, NaN(The creators of Blender)decided to start charging money for new versions of blender. These new versions were called the "Publisher" series instead of the free(Creator) series. The price was something like, $300-$1200 depending on which licence you got. NaN was planning on releasing the older publisher versions to the public after several months. It was basicly just a plan to help raise some money so NaN wouldn't go bankrupt. It obviously didnt work.
