Hi,
Myself, Friends and some Online Friends/Modders, Have been in the modding scene for a few years. We are now taking the transormation to Indie Game Developing, We are looking at the Torque engine for are first game. Before considering making one of are own.

We have some Funding behind us, Mainly from are jobs and such in real-life. Aswell as funding from are server and such once we go live.

So basicly the question we have at this time is, We would be fairly new to the Torque Game engine, We want to know wich version would be best for us, The Advanced or the normal one?

And if we develope the game with a "Indie" lisence, When close to completion, Can we upgrade the package to a "Commercial" lisence and remove the "Splash screen" and such, As we wish to test things and such out before we splash out money on the Commercial lisence.

Lastly, How can i test some of the tools that are included with the Engine? It says when i download the trial i am supposed to get these, Anyone explain where they are located?

If this is topic is in the wrong forum, Sorry and can someone move it.

Thank you,
FlameGuard, Administrator Generation Studios.

TGEA is more advanced with its shader pipeline and atlas terrain. But it is less stable then TGE.

TGE isnt as advanced but has a big codebase of user created resources compared to TGEA. It is more stable aswell.

The main reasons to use TGEA are needing normal maps or shaders on character/models and also large scale terrain. TGE has the modernisation kit which helps upgrade its look but you still cant normal map characters or models.

Im not sure about upgrading.

The tools are included, just hit f11 once your in a level.
