Gg logo / torque powered question

by Isaac Barbosa · in Torque Game Builder · 08/09/2007 (7:23 am) · 11 replies

Hello,

At least I will be ready to release my game :)

I will release a non complete version next month for a contest. And the complete version late november.

So I have a question for the garage staff, and I believe it is important:

What GG logo should I use and where? at the beginning of the game or will I be able to choose the place?

May I use a customized GG image?

May I be forced to place a legend like "Powered by Torque" "Made with TGB" or something?

Please let me know what should I do.

Thanks

I don't have a clue about your questions, but CONGRATULATIONS! :)

Check out this page. Especially the splash screens, we have some good TGB screens at different resolutions.

As for specifics... 4b of the EULA is

Quote:(b) Licensee agrees to display a full screen Torque Game Builder logo in the start up sequence of any game created and released with the Engine.

Also as Ricardo said, congrats :)

Thanks!

I'm really stressed by the fact of this release... Would people like the game or not? Would it run in most of machines? Would people buy it? hahahaha.... this is a madness... but I'm happy.

I believe this will be a really original game ;)

@Matthew, that's all? a full screen? that's great!

So, nothing like "Powered by Torque", "Made with TGB" or something like that?

From the EULA for Indie

4 b and c

(b) Licensee agrees to display a full screen Torque Game Builder logo in the start up sequence of any game created and released with the Engine.

(c) Licensee agrees to include in the "About" box or in the credits screen: (i) a link to www.garagegames.com, and (ii) the wording "This game powered by Torque Game Builder."

"Agrees" means that it is optional or mandatory? I don't want to commit a mistake ;)

For now, I have the GG logo appearing as first item in my game, but I'm planning to send it as second just after my own logo.

No link, and no wording. Is this ok?

Link/wording in "about" section (i assume if you have one).

A note: I bought RIP Tripple Pack & Manic Space & don't believe I saw the TGB/TGE logos at the start, just the Garage Games logo. I assumed it needed to be the editor specific but it doesn't? (they could of been commercial licenses though, i don't know).

I just don't want to do something wrong.

Of course I will place a wording for GG. I'm very grateful! Thanks to TGB I, a simple man, am able to make a game!

I just can imagine to be far of this possibility just because an engine is 100,000! THANKS FOR THIS GREAT SOFTWARE GG team ;)

I dont think they were made with TGE, so the logo is because GGpuplished it.

@Isaac

The TGE/B logo is neccesary if you have the Indie license, not the GG logo

The commercial version does not have these restrictions
