Couple of Quesitons

I have a couple of questions that I would like to get answered.
1. I'm using the PlatfomerStarterKit to make my game and I took the GUI files and put them into my project. I edited them to my liking, but when I run the game, I get this exception:

2. How would someone go about making a loading screen using Torque X?
If anyone could answer these questions that would be great. #1 is top priority.
