Terrain and accuracy

Hello
I made a terrain from a heightmap of a real island. But at normal square size os 8, it is too small and doesn't look good. So I upped the scale of the terrain to 16. Great. But trouble now is that when shooting with e.g. the crossbow, and hitting the ground right in front of my players toes, he only gets injured about half of the time. Rest of the time, it is like nothing happened, even though there is a big explosion right there.
I think I read somewhere about accuracy problems when upping the scale of the terrain, but I don't remember where or what. Is there a known solution to this problem?
Thanks

Ok, I just assumed the scale upping was causing it.
Could you please enlighten me, as to why this is happening?

I really am not an expert on Torque, and have no clue as to why this is or how to help. I just know I experience this in the original FPS starter kit

Sorry, I don't have an answer for you, but as a new TGE licensee, I am interested as well.
