Can't see any terrains

Hi, I downloaded the SDK and proceded to paint the terraform. Before I started to paint, the checkerboard default was not visable, so I tried to paint over it with different terrains. I clicked on the different example terrains, but they were all blank too. What is going on?

This a continuation of my last post, I added a Torque Logo to the scene, and it was grey, not red. The sky is grey, not blue. The only thing I see eith color, is the boundary walls, and the spawn sphere lines. This might be rel;ated to why I can't see the terraform painter tiles.
