Grab an image from the web and display? HTML plugin?

Hey guys! Long time no post.
I tried a search to the best of my ability but couldn't find reference to what I need. Has there already been a resource that demonstrates how to display, or grab an image from the web and display it in-game (in the menu, not needed for in-game action)?
Reason being I am developing a lobby system and am trying to work a deal with google adsense with CPM ads, so that I can request a small graphical ad from google and display it.
An alternative is to do the hard and develop an in-game web-browser. If that is the only option than I propose that: I will develop an in-game web browser in exchange for 3 content packs from the GG store? Sound fair? I will release full source and documentation.
If the first has already been done than great! The second is a huge job, as since the only good reference is an opengl based gecko (which firefox uses) browser. Of course that might be the best option as it will allow the browser to be cross platform.
Also, for TorqueWii, which renderer does it use? OGL or D3D?
Thanks,
Tony

I did see this. I do not have a t2d license, but am totally willing to port this to TGE (as you have already done) and release it as a resource. The source is readily available so perhaps it wont take much effort. I will look into it and update here on my thoughts.Thank you Aaron for your quick reply, it is very much appreciated.

Not to be offensive or anything but you don't understand that Direct3D is a Microsoft based product and is only for Microsoft platforms yet you are making games??

[pointless ponder]
As for the TGB Gui Browser, it does use a uBrowser based plugin, which means it renders via OpenGL. Hmm, would be nice to port it to Direct3D as well so that it could be compatible with both the 360 and the Wii... Actually, come to think about it, the need for textual or graphical ads is non-existent on a console platform anyway so that really nulls the need for D3D support all together...

Are you referring to my inquiry regarding the TorqueWii? If so, I suppose it might be a no-brainer that TWii renders via OpenGL but then again it seems whenever I make an assumption I am often wrong :([pointless ponder]

If you know a little C++, understand a little about the engine source code and can use Visual Basic fairly well, then you should be able to get his code in without too much effort.
It's not perfect, however -- there are a few gotchas that you'll need to be aware of, but it's an amazing piece of technology.
