Vehicle modeling problems

I actually have two issues with my vehicle that perhaps someone can help me with.

My team created this vehicle in 3DS Max 8 and thought I had everything going great until the wheels got messed up and something is funny with the windows and mounted characters.

First the wheels. Everything seemed to be set up right and it exports at the right place now with all of the right nodes and the bounding box and collision are correct because it will drive this way as you can see in the following two pictures.

Funny to look at, but confusing for me. Any ideas what went wrong?

LAst there is an issue with making transparent windows. If you look at the player mounted to the car he has an odd lighting issue while the rest of the inside of the car looks fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

On the wheels thing: export them with the mountpoint or hub or whatever its called rotated 90 degrees in the wheel model file. Dunno why but the wheels mount perpendicualr to the axis on the hubs of the car.

Thats the thing, I did! However, I took your advice and just rotated everything 90 degrees and it works.

Now, can someone tell me about the glass thing?

I have had a similar issue, now I know that is the last you wanna hear! Maybe, could you post some specifics about the material setup for the glass.... transparency, double sided, etc?! Is it part of the car mesh, or a separate mesh? Is it double sided, or have the SORT:: command on it?!

Oh I got the wheel problem fixed, it was as Thak said. The Glass is just a PNG withan alpha layer with Transparency enabled in the exporter.

As for it being set up as part of the mesh, that doesn't matter, its just another material or you can use the same that you use for the rest of the car just set up the alpha layer for that section.

Personally, I recommend setting it up as a different material because you can set up different reflection settings for each then since the glass will obviously reflect differently that the bod of the car.
