Brownstone House 01

by Paul Ash · in Constructor · 07/13/2007 (8:22 pm) · 10 replies

This is the first of the brownstone houses, I'm going to construct many of them, they will be used to fill the area with random buildings so the area doesn't look to empty.

It needs a little bit of work. but this is the basic idea

comments and suggestions would be well-liked :)

***EDIT***

Here is the final version of the building I'm going with, 1 down 10 to go, at least i learned a lot making this one

Here is an in-game render of it. so the detail map and correct lighting can be shown(tho there is a light added to the top that wont be there in the real game just to show off the building abit more, comments please!

Your design looks good. The paint work looks too good for the boarded up look. Maybe some cracks, chips, grime, graffiti etc in the brickwork textures?

Your model looks great. Only problem I have with it is that the boards make it seem its been abandoned for some time but the house looks brand spanking new. Try to make it look more run down. Other then that it looks great.

I can agree with that. both of you, im just trying to think of ways i can make it look like that with reuseable tileable textures, im thinking more damaged base wall texture + bricks could be enough.

Suggestions on things to do to the tileable textures would be appreciated :)

Paul Ash, if it's not a problem can you contact me on my e-mail? ebonixs@templetainment.com I was wondering on how you did it and hopefull we can talk. I've made similar drawings on building like yours mostly styles in the east coast like New York.
