I would like to know how to speed paint

I've seen the art guys as work doing speed paints and thumbnails. I googled this on "how to" and didn't get any decent tutes. Can anyone suggest any good tutes on learning these techniques please? Or books would be fine. I'll keep searching in the meantime.
