player mode. Why does this happen ? Any clues and who will be providing engine support for future fixes, garage games or Sierra ?

So you ae saying then that V12 has no support, and the bugs currently in T2 will not be addressed by anyone for V12 ? Or will Sierra and GG be working together on the master CVS to address future and present issues ?

GG is not responsible for Tribes 2. They didn't make it, Sierra did. Now, the underlying structure of the V12 -- that's where GG comes in. But it hasn't even been released, man. Sheesh.
Tribes 2 is made by Dynamix, published by Sierra. If you're having game problems, go to them. Good luck.

Dude, V12 is not released yet! How can there be any support??GG is not responsible for Tribes 2. They didn't make it, Sierra did. Now, the underlying structure of the V12 -- that's where GG comes in. But it hasn't even been released, man. Sheesh.

No, Garagegames is NOT going to fix the bugs in Tribes 2! It's not their game! They have nothing to do with it except that they bought the rights to use its engine.
Those bugs are NOT going to make it into the V12 engine. GG is cleaning it up right now -- they're making things more efficient, getting rid of Tribes 2 specific stuff. When you ask if the bugs will be 'addressed for the V12' -- well, they'll be culled before the code drop. But a lot of it is just plain stupid-ass stuff done by Sierra and Dynamix.
Like, hmm, PUTTING THE GODDAMN CD CHECK IN SCRIPT!! Jeezus Christ . . . I'm so glad GG is a smaller company, not a beaurocratic organization whose head is primarily an a$$cork.
Hehe . . . I like that word. A$$cork. That's funny.

The problems in T2 are the same problems in V12 ! It is the same friggin engine and we will be using it. I think you are just trying to argue for the sake of arguing LOL.

The engine is getting stripped of Tribes 2 stuff. They're re-arranging the underlying structure; I guess it was a mess when they got it. You're thinking in terms of older games -- games where most stuff was handled in source code. In Tribes 2/V12, almost everything but basic rendering and collision detection is handled in script.
Aw, I don't have time to explain all of this. Just listen: nothing GG does to the source will solve any problems in Tribes 2. Likely, they will make it much more efficient than Tribes 2 currently is -- but it's not going to change Tribes 2 any. And no, they aren't going to fix anything in Tribes 2! Almost none of the bugs in Tribes 2 are a problem with the engine itself -- it's problems with poor scripting, stupid implementation, and general confusion and hack work.

Hey Luc you might want to watch what you say about dynamix since some of the GG staff were dynamix staff who worked on Tribes2. :)

My suggestion is to go to Tribalwar.com and go through the news archives step-by-step -- there are some really nifty 'first aid utilities' that were released when Tribes 2 first came out.
So, no -- if you're having T2 problems, don't bring them here! I'm having them, too, but the best place is the Tribalwar forums. This is going to be (hopefully) a much less troubled area. ;)
