AFX on other engines

This would be a big undertaking and not something that would happen for a while, but I've been toying with the idea of taking AFX beyond the Torque family of engines. Don't get the wrong idea, I like Torque and it's been an excellent home and starting place for AFX and I hope it thrives in this community for a long time to come. I just feel that the potential growth and evolution of AFX may be sharply limited if it continues to support only a single family of engines.

So, what do you think of this notion? What other engines do you think would benefit from an AFX or AFX-like add-on?

C4? It currently has nothing like AFX and a big chunk of its user base also own Torque licenses, so AFX probably also has brand recognition there. You are probably better off staying away from the open source engines such as Crystal Space.

I've heard good things about C4 and done some initial investigation... Have not seen the code, just ran the demo. My impression was that it had potential, but seemed like it might need to evolve some more. Again, that was just from the demo, it might not convey where the engine is really at.

What about support for Unity?

I've only played around with the demo version, but I believe there is a plugin interface.

I second that motion for Unity support.

Yes, a Unity version would be sweet. I vote for it.
