Hello, Im working on models of a game im going to develop, a skill crane game. Like the ones you can see at stores. But im scared of the programming. I am not familiar with Torque quite yet. And my most common question I have been wanting to ask, whats the sign % mean??? lol sorry if im a noob at Torque.... I just want to see if it has a good engine to make such a game?
Is it good for it? Or will I have to do a LOT of modifying? Or a little?

Well, since Matt posted a link that explains it as well as I did, I'll just repeat how I felt about the game design:
I normally don't weigh in on topics discussing a person's game concept/design, but I couldn't resist this thread. I'm a recovering "Skill Crane Addict." If I have change in my pocket, I can't pass this machine without playing "just one more time." =) In other words, I love the concept and will happily shell out cash to play it if you decide to turn it into a product.
Let me know if you have any other questions about Torque Script and development, I want this game to see the light of day.

Holy crap my original post must have never gone through. I posted a very long description of the usage of % and $, as well as examples. Well, since Matt posted a link that explains it as well as I did, I'll just repeat how I felt about the game design:

I think it would see light of day faster if I could have some help every now and then if possible =)
Also, thnx for the post Matt
And, if you want Michael, you could E-Mail me at zombie13333@yahoo.com and help every now and then with my questions or code help & errors, that would be awsome. Also, im pretty shabby at making stuffed animal models for the crane, if you know how to model aswell & you helped that would.... change the game a lot, and I would add you in the credits just for helping with scripts =) I think it would be cool if you helped.
Anyway, back on topic: Thanks

Hello Elise. I think a skill crane game is a cool idea. I know that it is possible because I coded such a device a couple of years ago. I didn't make a skill crane, but what I did was I created a submarine that has a mechanical claw on the front of it that you can control with the mouse to move up and down, and open and close the pincers to pick up things like treasure chests and mines. You can see it mentioned here: http://www.garagegames.com/blogs/8239/12942Kind regards,
