The great mystery about 30 days trial (solved)
by M. Ugur Karakaplan · in Torque Game Builder · 06/25/2007 (11:07 am) · 18 replies
I am a registered user of TGB version 1.1.3 and I downloaded TGB version 1.5 from my account's page. However it says that it is a 30 days trial version and to unlock it I have to be an owner of TGB license. What's that all about? Is Beta version supposed to work only for 30 days?
And another question: Will GarageGames charge the owners of TGB v1.1.3 license to upgrade to v1.5? I expect it to be free but if it is not, I would very like to be informed about the prices and such. Thanks.

So do you mean it is not a 30 days trial version for you?

I just put in my Ignition key for the beta and it works fine.

I have TGB Commercial License. When I bought this license I didn't get an ignition key. The download section of my account says that I don't need an ignition key for the TGB Commercial License version 1.1.3. I don't have an ignition key. I remember that I downloaded TGB from that link and without entering a key, it was registered. But it says that if you have a license you should have an ignition key. So I'm kind of confused. Is ignition key only given to those who purchase pro version, or is there a problem with my account that I never had an ignition key although I have a commercial license?

Hmm... strange, I needed no such key either. It won't matter anyway because the final release of TGB 1.5 (which is a free upgrade) will be out within the week.

You use the same key to unlock 1.5 (non-pro) that you used to unlock 1.1.3 (non-pro) version. If you have the Pro version, you don't need a key.

I have never unlocked 1.1.3. It was registered without an ignition key when I downloaded it from my account page in garagegames.com

Torque X Builder - INDIE License (info) Download ****-****-****-**** -
It should have been added automatically. It was for me.

Don't look at the TGB line. Look for a line that says:Torque X Builder - INDIE License (info) Download ****-****-****-**** -
It should have been added automatically. It was for me.

Hmmm. Not sure then. I have the pro version from it's T2D days, though as an indie license rather than commercial.

Could someone from TGB team answer why I don't have an ignition key and why I should use the unlocked TGB beta v1.5 although I have a TGB v1.1.3 commercial license?I want my key.

you License is commercial, right?... do you get the source code of the engine when you install the program, or its just the bynaries?...
in my case, i got the indie pro license, so i dont need an ignition key (its useless, since i can compile a new exe that doesnt require a key anyway)... but im not quite sure whats happenin in your case. anyways, im sure its no biggie, and it will be solved in no time.

It seems to me that you dont need an ignition key for your copy of TGB, its gotta be a lil issue with your account config or so... but here goes a question:you License is commercial, right?... do you get the source code of the engine when you install the program, or its just the bynaries?...

No, I don't have the source code of the engine. I don't have the pro version and as far as I know they give the source only with pro version licenses. It is only commercial, the one for $495.

... i dont know the inners of the commercial license, but maybe you DO need an ignition engine (even tho, your account says you dont)... lets see what the guys at GG says about your case, since its pretty strange.

I've granted you a key and emailed it to you. You shouldn't have this problem once TGB 1.5 is released, however, send me an email if you do encounter a problem and I'll look into it.
