Changing mount positions results in strangeness

This issue has already been discussed here.
Here's the bottom line: I need to adjust the position of mounted guns on my player ship. When I do this, by calling mount and just simply changing the mount coordinates, my guns go wild. They are tracking the rotation of the player because I want them to always be pointing in front of him, but they start spinning wildly, in synchronization. They spin the fastest when the play is at 90 degrees rotation and 270. They don't spin at all when the player is at 0 or 180 degrees. I'm pretty confident that this is a bug.
EDIT: It's not like this is a major issue. I found a nice workaround, but I wanted to let some people know that there was an issue with the mounting system.
