Transparent textures/materials, OR deleting faces?

Hi, I am developing with TGEA, (cant remember the exact version, but its after the release version) and the latest version (1.0.2) of constructor.
I would like to be able to either:
Have transparency on part of a dif, or be able to apply a material to it so that it would be transparent,
OR
be able to delete individual faces from a hollow brush, creating a hole.
I cant seem to do either of these things, and I rememeber being able to delete faces in quark, so I thought I'd ask here in case i'm missing something.
Searches on transparency have been inconclusive. I have some that indicate it can be done with engine mods, and some that say its not supported at all on difs.
Any Ideas?
Thanks,
Jack

I figured since this was a script-only issue, it would be ok in the general forum, but do you think I should post it in the private section?

I tried doing that, but it didnt seem to work. I dont know if mymaterials are wrong, or theres something with my model.I figured since this was a script-only issue, it would be ok in the general forum, but do you think I should post it in the private section?

I should have checked that more thoroughly before I posted, my mistake.
edit: If anyone has any info on the deleting faces issue, I wouldnt mind hearing about it.

Sorry, I guess it was my material definitions. I copied and pasted one that I knew worked, and I got translucency working. I should have checked that more thoroughly before I posted, my mistake.

Try texturing the face with the NULL texture.
