Game dev time scale

Hi,

I was wondering on the average time scale of say a casual game being made on TGB.

I assume it wouldnt require a massive amount of scripting. The reason i ask is i have ideas for casual games pretty much hourly lol

I now have a folder on my desktop which must contain about 20+ casual game ideas and i really want to start banging them out :)

Would say 2-3 months or less be a achievable goal for a casual game?

Thanks

2-3 months with a set of full time, experienced developers. Sure.
You first game, 3 months? Maybe if you start really, really small. But most likely not.

In either case, just pick an idea (as small as possible of course!) and get started! It'll never get done unless you start somewhere after all...

Yeah that is very true :)

I am the problem of trying to plan everything out on paper which tends to be a curse lol

i have several ideas for casual games and many of these are very basic

24 hours during GID hehe :p

Just start with the basic stuff to get your feet wet first...

Good Luck

The game i have planned is very simple, infact they are similar to very old spectrum games just slightly improved and changed a little bit :)

As i think old spectrum type games are very casual :)

I don't know about TGB (I am buying when 1.5 comes out but am a Unity pro user) but I'd say depending on scale of game, 3-4 months easily. I am finishing a 4 play style, fully 3D soccer type casual game in Unity right now with only me, one extra coder guy (15 years old btw), and two modelers and if I'd done it 40 hours per week I'd have easily completed it well inside a month. As it stands, it'll be about 10 weeks start to finish. 3-4 months is ample time to do small indie game projects with a small team. Easily.
