Looks great! Good luck!

Is the background going to stay like that or change?

What coincidence! I'm at this moment developing a shmup myself! It is the sequel to:

Glatte!

I wouldn't embarrass myself by submitting the original Glatte to any contest, but who knows? Maybe Glatte 2 will be more successful! So far, the player movement is much smoother, and overall the graphics have improved 200%! Right now I've started work on the core gameplay . . . wish me luck, I'll need it.

I just watched your video, it was awesome! Keep up the amazing work!

Steve - thanks, that background is just temporary - to give an impression of movement. I'm still experimenting with background styles, but it will be semi-realistic.

That looks cool Kevin, you should enter your new one in the shmup-dev contest.

It looks great, though I would speed up the overall pace.

Conor:

I thought I had commented on your game before, but I guess not. I think it looks great! Are you using a 3D model for the plane, or have you just come up with a slick animation trick?

Looks great man, i really enjoy the demo. i'd like it if the ship felt less sluggish, but besides that i'm real into the gameplay. i'm also interested in hearing how you animated the player's ship.

The player ship is a 3d model rendered out at different angles into an imagemap. I just switch the frame (or flip the image in Y) depending on the motion of the player.

Sweet looking game!!! Looks absolutely fantastic.

I love the contrails coming off of the wingtips when you bank hard -- that's just class. :)

I'm digging the latest version! Do you ever plan on finishing the game?

Yes, I have a lot of bug-fixes planned. I'll probably release another version when I have a few more levels.

It looks great! I love the saturation in the background, great colors. Any chances of getting a Mac build?

I have yet to beat this demo! Whenever that ball opens up on the boss; I know death is seconds away! That screen shot gives me an idea about how to defeat it though.

Also, I really love the controller support. I have used my new controller most on this game than any other, excluding Knytt. I can't believe this game did not win the shmup contest! Could you email the link to the winners page? Thanks.

I'm glad you like the controller support. I put in full analog control, just just keyboard emulation. I think the main reason I ranked so low in the contest was because the game's only 1 level long at the moment. I'll make some more levels when I have time.

Jacob - I'm afraid I don't have a Mac so until I get one, a Mac build isn't likely.

Conor,

I'm really enjoying trying to beat this demo. Thanks for the link! I'll check it out once I give up the thought of ever beating the demo without help. Just so you know, I've tried beating it 30-40 times. You're lucky that the game is so much darn fun that I can put up with being obliterated by it all the time. I had a bunch of friends over last night and they really liked it too. I think the only game that topped Drone Swarm yesterday was Far Cry. That's saying a lot!

Oh and thanks for the contest link!
