.... hey Guys, im the big checker in making maps (;-]say my friens)

and now...
these screens show you the use of 3 kinds of ammo at the same time and map. thx players for help to make this screens :-) and special thx to [cloud]for scripting help :-)
players can switch ammo to press Q
players see on right side the used ammo.
all ammo have diffrent radius and damage.

Ehhh he is me, Not a GG member but i was appointed Lead art for Realm Wars and i am looking for people who can make maps and stuff like that, so maybe we should talk =O)

You got some nice looking maps there maybe you can help us out in the future. If you are intrested mail me at decoy@flyingtemple.com..

I agree Ryan but i'm missing some consistancy but that is mainly because of the textures. I also don't like the deforming of the towers the textures scale with it the overall thing looks a bit messy because of this...

There are some more minor points i could come up with but over all it's a pretty nice map, it's probably alot of fun to play.

Maybe, me and my friend "Micki" alias DeepNight are some undiscovered, wasted talents ;-)

The Galleries of my Friend Micki has also a lot of Pictures of his / our work.

At the beginning of our work, we had not much knowledge about Levelediting and Design. So we used the "old" buildings from the demo and encroached it.

Some weeks later, we learned how to Build own things and used our own Buildings to create varied levels...

Now, we are here ;-)

At least, we have to excuse us for our bad english ;-)
We come from germany and only learned basic english at school....
I hope, you've understand everything i've wroted !

That levels with stretched Objects are just for fun...

That Levels are made before we know how to make our own buildings...
The Objects in the Demo are small and sometimes not big enough to realize our own Ideas.....

But now, we have our own houses etc. and now we make better Levels without stretching something ;-)

So, we are at the beginning of our real good Maps !

I understand Pascal, cause I saw too some great ideas on this map (I really like the way you're making the bridge).

But I really think making maps and maps objects needs drawings/designing skills, cause you can make a map really fun but not enough professional (at least for a game like this). Anyway keep making maps cause, yes!, you've got some great talents, even if this is not "official RW maps" I really want to play your map in the future ;-)


PS: I'm from France, and in the same case as you for english... :o)

i know what u mean, but I have try something from nothing to make :-)
in addition we have make a dedicated server, and ppl's only can play on it with the original objects.

why speak all about stretching objects?, i heared no response to the new selfmade objects (is Djaggernaut the only one to see this?? thx djagger!!)

but i will make a new map ,without your orig. things, and than u can say your opinion, ok?

OOps sorry about that Micheal =O) I think you did a great job on the new objects as well as on the level, like i said before it is probably a blast to play.

I was just trying to give some feedback pointing out some little things that i think could be improved. I think with the right textures your map could look so much better, but that is just my idea..

I really like what you guys are doing and am very intrested to see what you come up with next.

Yeah it would be very cool that you tried to make an entire map and with the best quality you can put in.

Try to work at your best, anyway anything good will be used in RW I suppose... SO if your work is good it will be used (if not that could be a great fan map).

When I work on RW I try to use all the qualities I can find in myself (yeah, not too much ;-). That's quite hard regarding to the work that Pascal or Joe can produce, so I push my limit (thanks to Pascal ;-)) to make something good.
With work and patience, you will be highly rewarded of your effort! It means you must think about everything in your map, work on all part and add details.

I'm waiting to see your new piece of work!
PS: (maps don't need to be too big, just make it cool :-))

so friens, my new map is fineshd. ALL objects on these map are selfmad with QuArK4Torque. and we have played this with 5 ppl on server, and its great play. to see pictures from NEW selfmademap, visit my page

Must have missed this thread.

Nice to see someone using the Ammo Switching code I wrote. The arrow images really need to be tweaked. Would really look better if the arrows were different pictures rather than different colors.

thx to wrote ammoscript, very good stuff. and it works fine :-), but i have 1 question. i use the script on my dedicated server. and when a player join the game, in the serverwindow i become the following errormessage:

rw/server/scripts/inventory.cs <97>.unabled to find object:''attemping to call funktion 'getName'
rw/server/scripts/inventory.cs <136>.unabled to find object:''attemping to call funktion 'getName'
rw/server/scripts/inventory.cs <156>.unabled to find object:''attemping to call funktion 'getName'

i think in script on line 97, 136 and 156 is an problem, but i have no knowhow to repair this, can u help me?

Hi Michael, firstly i checked out your gallery for your latest map, and it looks stunning. As far as the script error you are getting, it is difficult to help because once you start adding code to the script files, as i presume has been done for the inventory.cs the line numbers will obvoiusly change, ie add a line of code between 97 and 98, and line 98 becomes line 99, so here is the line 97 of script i have in my own inventory.cs
return %this.getDatablock().maxInv[%data.getName()];
if that is the same as yours you might want to look at the ammo section of your crossbow.cs and check you have added maxInventory = 20; (20 being the amount of ammo and can be changed if you wish) to each of the different ammo.
hope this helps or at least points you in the right direction.
Again great work on this new map.
