Looking in the wrong places

I have to be doing something wrong here.
TGE is an amazing engine with so much potential but at the moment i am spending 80% of my time looking for resources that work with the engine .. some work .. others dont , instead of getting my feet dirty making games.
Im sure a lot of you have noticed but alot of the resources in the "resource" section are quite old ... most are from 2003 some from as early as 2000 ... this wouldnt bother me if they actually worked with TGE 1.5.2
the tutorial section works well .. but is very limited in what is available
the same can be said for TDN ... the list of things that should be available would be perfect.. but so much of it is incomplete is just frustrating .. for example
making skyboxes.
http://tdn.garagegames.com/wiki/WorldBuilding/Skyboxes/Skyboxes_With_Terragen
starts off great but ends half way thru.
I feel like im beating my head into concrete whenever i browse TND .. i see a title like "How do I use mount points?" .. sounds great .. but there is nothing there... alot of very important areas are the same Audio being another one.
what i am looking for is working examples of .cs .dts .dif .ogg etc that i can play around with.
-Has anyone released any games that have made the .cs code available so we have other examples to look at of more complete projects?
-im looking for .cs examples that work with tge 1.5.2 ie. AI , GUI , triggers etc
does anyone post this kind of thing anywhere.
has anyone created a list of resources anywhere in the community that are up to date.
i dont really see the point of reinventing the wheel ... the torque community has been around for about 7 years or so. So this stuff has to be out there right ??? there has to be something i am missing ...

Torque 3D Owner Tom Perry
As for TDN, if something is missing then unfortunalty that just bad luck. If you later find the answer you can go back and fill it in, its a wiki ;)
The starter.fps is a pretty complete project, as for others try

The documentation situation is a problem with TGE, and it has been mentioned that GG are working on it (the docs to TGB for example are fantastic).
