Testing Bloom and lights

by Andy Hawkins · in Torque Game Engine Advanced · 05/27/2007 (2:20 am) · 2 replies

I think I'm having issues with bloom, glow and hdr lighting with TGEA.

Can someone point me in the right direction to test that these work on my system please?

For example, what simple thing can I do to test bloom works?

How can I test HDR is working etc.

Well I found the magic buttons. See snapshot - just had to find the right falloff settings for bloom, turn it on, and turn on HDR / DRL. It's all part of the Sun. Of course I cranked it to 11, like any noob would :)

Hi Andy,

The sun's properties control the scene's HDR/DRL setting - this tells the engine if the scene is allowed to use these features and the various settings.

The options in the Light Editor change the user prefs (these are also accessible in the Torque Options Panel) allowing users to globally enable/disable these features for an optimal balance of game performance and visual quality.
