Suggestion - a new forum section just for Atlas

by Tim Holt · in Torque Game Engine Advanced · 05/24/2007 (2:06 pm) · 7 replies

I'm not sure about the applications of others, but the ability to do large terrain was THE reason I began to look at TSE/TGEA. It's a very unique selling point.

Is it perhaps worth having it's own forum?

Tim if you're using L3DT to generate Atlas terrains (as I think most people are), their forums are quite active with Torque users.

I am and it crashes on exporting my terrain therefor I'm back here searching through dispersed threads of suggestions that are not always easy to find and are sometimes out of date.

To me large terrain (and maybe shaders) is the ONLY reason I am using TGEA.

I heartily agree with you Tim. It certainly would make it easier to help people having problems with both Atlas and Legacy terrain if the posts were easy to find. And the discussions could cover displaying, and modifying terrain as well as generating terrain.

And maybe there could be a "Terrain" section in Resources, like under "Torque Engine Technology" in the resource tree.

The downside is the number of reported problems with Atlas might be depressing.

This idea gets my approval as well.

I resisted the urge to make comments in that direction :^)
