Face Extrude Plugin

by Jaimi McEntire · in Constructor · 05/11/2007 (6:52 am) · 59 replies

OK, I've got a working version of the face extrude plugin running. Right now, the new (extruded) brush has sides that are perpendicular to the selected face (you can skew it by modifying the normal).
I was thinking about adding an option to create the sides of the new brush so they conform to the planes of the touching faces. Does this interest anyone?

If anyone wants to try it, post a message here, and I'll email you a test version.

@Jason - The Arch is new in 1.0.1 of constructor - it's in the primitives section. Great new tool!

@others - I'm out for a little bit now, but I'll try to get it sent out a bit later.

Ahh thanks Jaimi, I haven't downloaded it yet since I still have to do the merge and I have not heard good things thus far about going through all that. I also hear you can't use 1.0.1 version difs in 1.5.1 Is this true?

Jason:

That is correct. Constructor v1.0.1 difs will not work in TGE 1.5.1. They require 1.5.2.

Thanks Andy, Thats a bummer actually since there seems to be many bugs with 1.5.2 and constructor. Hopefully this weekend I'll get a chance to start merging and working out the bugs. Still a great update though from what i can tell.

In the preferences on the left panel. Under "move speed" and of course you can speed it to maximum by holding the shift key just like in the editor.

@all -

I'm putting in some final touches on it - specifically the ability to extrude multiple faces at the same time. I've also finished up the "Create House" plugin - it will actually create the structure (roof, walls, floor, Ceiling) now. It's kind of cool, I'll include it in the download too. I have a Torus plugin about halfway done, I'll try to get that in as well.

I would just like to say that all of your plugins work like a charm. I use the extrude tool extensively within 3ds max so this is a great tool to have inside of Constructor. Great work Jaimi!
