Hi,
Just wondering, anyone have tried Torque in a Nintendo DS ? What chances are that this may work without too much trouble ?
thanks,
Bruno

Both do not feature OpenGL 1.4 which is needed to run TGB.
The reduced OpenGL from GP2x as well as the one on Nintendo DS which are both simulated through CPU won't suffice.
Even if you can bypass that: The editors etc are targeted for computer systems with much RAM and VRAM, not for 4MB VRAM (1x 1024x1024 texture) and 4-64MB of RAM.
You would have to drastically rewrite the core to fit into those restrictions. (as well cpu wise, we are talking of a few dozen mhz compared to 2+ ghz on a desktop and ARM can't directly be compared to X86. TGB / Torque is nice but they are not that optimized that they work on handhelds ... )

Dan -- ahhh, thats nice to know ... I don't remember it being in the EULA when I got my copy of TGB though ... is it a new addition that was recently added?

I have no idea when it was added. I don't keep old versions around to check. If I recall it's been in there quite a while though. I seem to remember that kind of clause being in TGE when I bought it back in '05 though, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was hiding in TGB since the beginning.

I'm sure it's been in there for quite a while, I may have over looked it as I didn't have intentions to do that .... just curious now, if the EULA is updated ... what happens ;)

Hrm, I'm kind of curious ... if the EULA says "A" when you purchase, and says "B" when your ready to release ... your governed under "A" and not "B" due to the time of purchase and the agreement you made at purchase ... no?I'm sure it's been in there for quite a while, I may have over looked it as I didn't have intentions to do that .... just curious now, if the EULA is updated ... what happens ;)

*Note I'm no lawyer, but this is my understanding of the rules. I believe it's covered under section 10: Miscellaneous. It'd be nice to have a GG employee verify if this is in fact true. Also, I'm not making any claims about knowledge of any changes to the EULA.
EDIT: Added disclaimer. :)

It is my understanding that you must obey the rules of the EULA of the version you are using. For example, say you're using TGB 1.1.3 now and Garage Games makes a major change to the EULA when they release 1.5. If you don't like the 1.5 EULA you can continue to use 1.1.3 under the old EULA. If, however, you update your project to 1.5 you then become bound by the new EULA.*Note I'm no lawyer, but this is my understanding of the rules. I believe it's covered under section 10: Miscellaneous. It'd be nice to have a GG employee verify if this is in fact true. Also, I'm not making any claims about knowledge of any changes to the EULA.

The GP2X has a good chance of supporting TGB though ... but a smaller market ...
