Video Tutorial on Constructor

by John Spivey · in Game Design and Creative Issues · 05/09/2007 (5:36 pm) · 10 replies

I have made a basic video tutorial going over the Constructor interface. Comments apreciated and if I managed to get something wrong let me know so I can fix it. It is just a basic introduction to the Constructor interface to get people whom are not used to the program.

If for some reason I manage to exceed my bandwith I will upgrade the account and will be watching the hits for a week or so to gauge public interest. If people respond well to it I will continue posting more tutorials.

Again any comments are welcome.

The video itself didn't appear to be loading. I gave it about a minute (on a REALLY fast connection), no love.

Had some friends check on the link for me and they all got it to work. I am not sure what the problem is.

Any chance you can repost this or load it onto Youtube?

Using the link on the page, took me to this url: http://jspivey.4t.com/media/InterfaceIntroductionConstructor.wmv
The message I got at that url was: Page Not Found - 404 Error Page
The page you are looking for (http://jspivey.4t.com/media/InterfaceIntroductionConstructor.wmv) is not here.
Jerusalem_early_build_0001.wmv 2007-JAN-07 00:14:19 1031k is the only video in the folder.

Hey guys,
This is one of those web sites that, well frankly, I have forgotten all about. The video tutorial was removed some time ago. I would not even begin to know where it is. Sorry. I have fallen out of game design due to simply not finding any other people to work with on projects I could get behind. I had done a class at the local community college on constructor as well but when it was all said and done the tool isnt (in my opinion) the best tool out there. When I play anymore with Torque I use 4D world studio. Its simple interface and solid design makes it a far superior tool (again in my opinion). If I can find the video I will see what I can do about putting it back up there. I will look today.

Thanks for the renewed interest in this old thread.

John

p.s.- I found the old videos. I am currently posting them on You Tube. I am wondering how they will look after You tube compresses them. When they are ready to go I will post the links. These were done for an online class I was going to do but lost interest in doing so. Might as well post em though. Someone "might" find them usefull.
