TGEA polygon limit and dsq animations?

Hey I need to know what the polygon limit for the TGEA is with models. I am modeling a character and I need to know what number of polys not to go over. Also does anyone know were a DSQ exporter for lightwave is? I am using lightwave for modeling it already has a dts exporter but that is only for static models. I need a plugin or other software that can save dsq animations.

The LW exporter supports animations. Just use that.

Poly count is not nearly as big a deal as it once was, but the old rule of thumb still applies: make it as low as humanly possible and detail with shaders and textures. Normal mapping, bump mapping, etc will go a long way to giving a model a nice, clean look. It's the same recommendation that Epic makes for Unreal 3. This is especially true if you have a widely variant number of polies on the screen at one time (say in a multiplayer game where people can jump in and out of a match and some areas can get congested).

Ahem my favorite gripe.

You will experience issues with the lightwave and possibly other exporters.

here's one of the posts i made awhile back..

anyhow. about 10k is the limit for the exporter for a single object layer. depending on what you're making it will be fine.

Lightwave does not come with a DTS exporter out of the box..... so if you're using something out of the box, it's not it.

Thanks David and Ramen I am making a character model that has about 4K polys. I havnt exported and set it up ingame yet. I just wanted to make sure it wouldnt cause any problems for TGEA.Ramen what I meant to say before was that I downloaded the exporter for lightwave that was from this site. One other question. Does anyone know if there is any free bump map making software? Like david said to do I am going to try and make a bump map skin texture. But I need some pogram that will do this.
