You can make a big mmorpg with torque.
Check out Minions of Mirth (http://www.prairiegames.com/) for example.

You need more a reason why not?
you have the full source, and with that a stable platform to work on, you cant use TGE/TGEA out of the box for a mmo. But if you have the skills to modify/expand torque like you want, its possible to do.

Torque out of the box is not designed for mmos.. it is more for traditional multiplayer fps...

but you can heavily modify the source code to do what you want to do .... so the game will be as good as you develop it..it depends on how good is your game being developed..

currently minions of mirth is best example that a mmorpg can be done with torque with the apropiate development efforts.....

besides it depends all on your resources..in how much money you want to invest in it.. and how many people you have to work on it...and how much effort and dedication you put in it..

it will not give you an automatic hit giving you thousands of dollars...

Cheers

Listen this is very simple.

You can make ANY game with Torque. You get the source code, which you can modify to make any game you wish.

When you first get Torque it is NOT suitable for MMORPG games, but with some time and effort to bring in the elements that are required for a MMORPG you can make one.

I have answered your question (as has everyone else who has responded to this topic) but I know your just going to come back with your "need more a reason" BS.

If the answer "Yes you can make a MMORPG with Torque, but it will take some work" needs "more a reason" then I would suggest that you just stop posting period.

Please don't press refresh. It reposts.

It will take a huge amount of work to make a MMO with Torque or Unreal 3 respectively. But a quality devteam can do it.

As long as you have a high-quality, dedicated devteam.

What about Dream Lords it was made with TGEA. It has a huge terrain and looks really nice. If you looking to make a game you should be more worried about the gameplay, because you can have the best graphics in the world and the biggest terrain, but without good gameplay the game will suck. I think Minions of Mirth is a good example of an MMORPG in TGE it has good gameplay and its getting better and more known throughout the world, its free, and soon it will be up WOW standard. If I was the guy who made Minions of Mirth I would charge for the next expansion pack, because the games is that good and its getting better and btter all the time.
