TGB 1.5b3 not compatible with my laptop

I have an old IBM Thinkpad R40. I was going out of town and wanted to play with the new TGB beta so I pulled it down and installed. Went to run it on the laptop and found that it didnt work.
The problem is screen resolution. When TGB is first starts, it switches the screen res to something low (640X480) or so. The screen blinks a few times then when the opening screen finally comes up I can only see part of it.
I thought that maybe my laptop is just to old to run TGB. To satisfy my curiosity I downloaded 1.3 and installed it. It appears to run just fine.

The Video Card in this little beast is: ATI MOBILITY RADEON 7500
Video Ram: 32MB

Usual disclaimer applies, not responsible if you install them and your laptop blows up, etc... but I wanted to offer it as a suggestion anyways. Hope it helps!
