Any Gaming conferences/etc.. coming to Vancouver, Canadaarea?

Vancouver, BC, Canada.
Many people never heard of it, but we house some of the largest gaming companies. (600+ employee EA Sports for example).
Counter-Strike, winner of Best Game Of The Year, developed here. The man behind the madness lives 10 minutes away from me.
We have a College dedicated to Gaming only (CDIS).
With all of these assets, and more, I have yet to see any kind of gaming conference or seminar here.
Why?!
I'm a Level Designer (2+ years) and don't want to travel to San Diego everytime something gaming related happens! :)
Is there something Gaming related happening in the Vancouver area? Even the Seattle area is close enough (3 hour drive).
