4 programs to accomplish 1 thing.

I know some of it is just the way the world works. Nobody can create one tool that
does it all and satisfies everyone.
What I've now found myself doing to create a building.
1. Use Paint Shop Pro 7 to create the textures I want
2. Use 3D World Studio to create the building with different versions for Level of Detail.
It took some time and a bit of research but I even got Portlas to work within 3DWS.
I mainly use 3DWS because out of the box it's been by far the easiest interface to
learn and use.
3. Use Torque Constructor to specify certain brushes as Detail brushes because 3DWS
doesn't seem to have that ability. (that I've found yet)
4. Use Map2Dif_Plus to of course convert the MAP to a DIF.
Am I that much of a noob? or shouldn't there be an easier way.
Then again, if it were really easy, everyone would be doing it. :-)
