Vista Ultimate Mouse Problem

by David Massey · in Constructor · 04/08/2007 (9:29 pm) · 5 replies

Hello,

I am running Contructor on a notebook running Vista Ultiamte. When I rotate/pan/zoom a view, it goes pretty much haywire.

In the 3d view, when rotating a view (either right button, or using the rotate icon on the window bar) it appears to roate a set amount on several axis on each mouse movement - regardless of the amount the mouse moves.

This happens on 3 mice that I have tested, using latest drives for all mice:
Logitech marble mouse (trackball)
Microsoft IntelliMouse Optical
Built in ps/2 touchpad

Any ideas?

Is the mouse attached to a Y spliter for keyboard and mouse? and have you tried using it with just the generic windows drivers?

No splitters envolved...
I've used generic windows driver for the touchpad, trackball, and optical mouse
I've also used Logitech SetPoint 3.3 (Vista) drviers for the trackball (logitech marble mouse)
I've used Microsoft IntelliPoint 6.1 (Vista) drivers for the Intelimouse

The Trackball and mouse are not hooked up at the same time, each is a USB connection.

They function perfectly in all other applications (Milkshape, Fragmotion, Silo, Silo2, PSP, Dogwaffle, etc...)

Try disabling the logitech software (make sure it is killed in task manager as well) and see if it makes a difference. In testing, we had problems with Logitech Setpoint (see known issues on the product page for constructor)

Problem Solved.

System: MSI Notebook, AMD TL-60, geForce 7600 go (latest beta drivers)

The issue was SetPoint - Even though I had uninstalled the SetPoint software, and there were no SetPoint/Logitech related processes reporting in task manager...

Via system configuration startup tab, there were two references to Logitech SetPoint startup programs, both the same file: KHALMNPR.EXE. Even disabling them via system configuration did not correct the issue.

Only after deleting them via RegEdit was the issue resolved.

Thanks for the help.
