GG, I want a refund

by Dan Partelly · in Torque Game Engine Advanced · 04/02/2007 (3:04 am) · 44 replies

As the thread title say, I want a refund for the money i spent on TSE EA and TGE.

The grounds are: delivering TGEA 1.0 in a form which does not meet the advertised feature list, and the
general poor quality of the product.

On the same lines, I want a refund for the TGE product, which I bought only to qualify for a TSE EA
purchase.

I will keep my TGB license, that is a good product.

Please direct me to the appropriate resources within your company so I can get my money back.

Thank you, Dan

I have to agree with Dan. I don't find it very fair that things were removed after the fact. I feel like important features were removed just to get TGEA released quickly. The deletion of features after people bought the engine in good faith feels wrong. I felt like the EA milestone list were features that would be implemented. I never saw a disclaimer stating that any features could be removed at anytime. The only reason I bought TGEA in EA was to support GG...in good faith. I would do anything for a refund...including never posting on GG.com again, which I'm sure they would appreciate.

Timothy,

I keep an eye on the engine since the first day. I simply assumed that the promised features where already implemented. Even if they are not, the engine was put in 1.0 in a sorry state , more like a pre-beta than anything else. Also, **if** EULA have stipulations against the law , they are most likely void.

Anyway, I emailed Eric and I made a formal request.

Dan, in many places in the second half of the EULA describing our Warranties, Disclaimers, Fees, and more. It's all there.

The productivity and usefulness of this thread has really gone downhill. It's my feeling that the issues above have been adequately answered and the proper routes have been displayed.

If there are specific complaints about features, please create new threads in the Bugs / Feedback forums with specific case instances on what has gone awry. If you have a sales issue, please follow the instructions I posted above.

A game engine is an extremely complex product, especially a higher-end product like TGEA which is geared towards professionals. It takes detailed knowledge of C++ in order to full understand the inner workings and technicalities. We have several easier entry level products which offer a more comfortable experience in going from hobbyist to pro such as TGB.

Again, GarageGames strives to create only quality products and we wouldn't release a product if we didn't feel it was ready for the target audience. Thanks for being understanding and bearing with us guys.
