Hi,
My name is Paul Taylor and I'm a musician and writer from the UK.
I've recently finished sound design and music work for the Torque sword-fighting game 'Determinance', which is currently available to buy in the Garage Games store. You can find more information about the game here - www.mode7games.com
Here are two sample tracks from the game (the brief was "epic action with dance production"):
www.nervoustestpilot.co.uk/apotheosis.mp3
www.russellsreviews.co.uk/freedom/mp3/nervous_testpilot_spacetime.mp3
Gametunnel said this about the score: "...a heart-pounding soundtrack that mixes industrial techno beats with some easy-on-the-ears house tunes."
I work in a variety of styles: I've released downtempo electronica, breaks, trance and hardcore in the past.
I've recently signed two hardcore tracks to Nu Energy Limited in the UK (www.nuenergy.co.uk) and I'm looking forward to working on further similar projects. Please contact me if you're interested in hearing samples.
At the moment, I'm working on expanding my repertoire to include more ambient and orchestral compositions, fusing those elements with my existing knowledge of synth-based and sampled sounds. Through my writing work for magazines such as Computer Music (UK) and Remix (US), I'm in constant contact with artists and developers working at the forefront of electronic music. You can read an article about dance remixing by me in the current edition of Remix magazine if you're interested!
From my work with Mode 7 Games, I know all about the trials and tribulations of working on an indie project. I'm currently looking to expand my portfolio of game composition, and I'd be interested to discuss and music or sound opportunities with you. If you need an original, distinctive score from someone who's willing to work with your team at a negotiable rate, then please drop me a line:
