Autolock Crosshair

I'm making a third-person over-the-shoulder flight sim but without having fine control for aiming, this perspective hurts the combative play. Does anybody have any ideas on how to create a crosshair that can lock on enemies within a certain range of the center point of the screen? Thanks.
