Heya, here are a few tutorials:

This is a new tutorial with PD Pro, on painting and shading for realistic effects on shapes with PD Pro Digital Painter.

If you are a user of PD Particles (available here at GG), you may be able to do some of this too with it, since the Alpha channel features are similar (make sure you grab a hold of the free plugin collection, CoolTools #1 for PD Particles).
