Interesting article on some new algorithms for ray tracing in games, requiring much less computational power than previously (or so they say)

I'm certainly quite happy with the depth of visuals you can accomplish right now with top end shader cards. So this seems like a bit of a dummy step. Snake oil even.
I'd rather read a paper on what it is theyre doing thats new, so I could tell for myself.

Hmm, I've seen people talk about real-time raytracing for years and I just dont think its possible to really do it without enough cludges to the point where it isnt really raytracing anymore, its something else.I'm certainly quite happy with the depth of visuals you can accomplish right now with top end shader cards.
