Torque Development - Xbox360

I am currently positioning my company to do game dev and I have purchased all your tools now I need to see the roadmap ahead for game development to the X-Box360

What do I need to do to have my game ported to X-Box360, which dev tools do I need to use.

I am initially only looking at doing promotional games for customers not "Full released games" i.e. demos to customers.

For example I see magazines that had demos on games and it works on Xbox360 How would I do that?

For such distribution methods, I believe you would have to have become an official XBox licensee and have a dev spot for magazine distribution. If you are looking at targeting customers that are XNA members, then you could get by with an XNA Creator's Club membership.

For the first, it would require approval from Microsoft and a chunk of cash. For the second, it would require a Creator's Club license through XBLA.

You can not use XNA to release a game on Xbox360 for commercial gain at this point. With the next version of XNA (1.1 out next month) we no longer have to distribute source code with our games we want people to use creator's club to get. You can however use XNA to release PC games.

You need a very expensive dev kit from MS if you are new to console development. These kits are not easy to get and require a relationship with MS and a damn good game idea/demo. If you are able to obtain a dev kit, you can use a modified version of TGEA to build the game. I believe Tim Aste is your man for more info on TGEA-360.

What I would do is build a prototype of your game using XNA and show that to MS. They will either really like it and work out something on the Dev kit or something else....

Thanks for the response - We will get our demo going and then approach Torque / Microsoft I just hope that we do not need to do to much modifications going the Xbox.

Thanks again
