Sound modulation

I know that TGE can do 3d sound, and also adjust the pitch of a playing sound. (Actually it might be only for vehicles that you can adjust pitch, but this could probably be extended to other sounds without too much effort.)
I'm interested in what other sound modulation TGE do. I.e., can it do reverb, or chorus effects? Can it apply an ADSF envelope to sounds? I am working on an art project that involves players interacting with animated sculptures in a TGE world, and I need to get a handle on what Torque can do for sound modulation.
I also understand that TGE uses OpenAL for its audio. Does it use OpenAL exclusively? In other words, is the audio capability TGE pretty much what OpenAL can do?
