Where to put my game for download ?

by Frank Bignone · in General Discussion · 06/24/2002 (10:25 am) · 8 replies

We will soon release the first public beta of Dog of Prey and I'm asking myself where I can put our archive file ?
I will host a FTP site on my computer but it will not have a large bandwith and as the file may weight around 50-60 Mb it will takes time to download it.

Any hints ?

If need be, I can mirror a copy off my linux box (cable modem) at home for you.

Yay!! A DOP beta! Sweet!!
Well, we got a server with a 10MBit connection hanging on a 100 MBit University Backbone, which is pretty fast...(its located in Germany) - we do have transfer limits, though (50GB/month, then we have to pay per MB)... but maybe I can offer to mirror your download (as long as it doesn't produce too much traffic ... in that case we would have to take it off, cause this soon gets pretty expensive, as you can imagine... ) - so if there are other mirrors as well and if you don't find anything completely free - without any traffic restrictions, that is (GG? hint, hint... ;-), let me know...

Greetings!

Hey, I'd love to host the beta of the premiere Torque game over at www.gnometech.com.

I have enough space, and no transfer limits. And as this is a web server with an actual provider (www.esosoft.com), there should be a decent transfer rate.

Send me an email (from my profile) if you'd like to follow-up.

I can offer a mirror also at www.rustycode.com. I have a 10 GB/month traffic limit that I have never remotely come close to tapping so no worries there =)
