They don't mention indies.. I guess they think we are too stupid and will have "corpses" of dead MMO's.

Then again that comment comes from Raph the dude that ruined SWG.

Quote:Big media firms are rushing to copy the success of online games like World of Warcraft, a conference has been told.

Millions of dollars are being spent trying to emulate the massively multiplayer online game, experts at the Game Developer's Conference said.

"We are going to have so many failures it is going to be unbelievable," said Mark Jacobs of Electronic Arts.

Hey if there is big money they should spend it on the indies not the chop shops.

I think that this article has some good and bad points. MMO's won't replace Television. They will grown in market but TV is not going anywhere except digital and more interactive.

Also it's going to transform the industry as far as choices and expand user power.

No longer will morons in business suit charge you $20 a month then TAKE away your spells , dampen your armor and dull your blade. The nerf every week days are for beta's... not production billing games.

Test your stuff before you put it in the game... PERIOD. Quality control is making proper decisions before implementation so you don't have to steal something your paying customer likes.

/rant off..
