how exacly does the F3 recoding function work? it seems to me that itonly records camara and player movements.
because I notice that when you play a recording the play timer starts at the last place it stops, and i recoded 15 minutes of me editing terrain. when I played it back, then terrain was the same though out the whole video as it was when i finished editing. like i had a 15 minute recording of a sill camara!
is there a way to set upthe recording to capture the exact thing i see (like terrain editing) and all that?
also is there a way to record as an AVI? or MOV? that would be awesome!
please help me out

The recording function only records game specific stuff. It won't record anything you do in the mission and map editors.

I can't get it to play back anything, even if I go in a world and to pick up a gun. After it is recorded I select the file click play and Nothing must have gotten broken again

The engine doesn't have mov/avi export functions for the demo, but it's something that would be useful once projects start approaching that phase where a nice video demo of the game would be useful to those who don't have video capture tools.
Heh, although I will have to try recording a demo and then moving around the buildings (after recording has stopped) and save the level. Then, when I reload I wonder what will happen if the demo had the player run through some water where a large building now stands... My guess is it'll execute the recorded functions assuming you can walk by, making for a pretty funny looking video when it's running into a wall for a minute straight then turning around and jumping off a cliff.
