Turn-Based Strategy Game (like Chess)

Anyone interested in trying to make TorqueChess, or something similar (maybe HeroScape).
We could use either inanimate pieces like real chess, or they could have simple animations, like breathing and walking from square to square. No real combat system or anything like that would be needed. It seems a lot easier for a newbie to make something like this rather than a MMORPG.
It could be a great learning experience.
Thanks!

Yes. I plan on getting one piece to move correctly, and then expanding. If I take it one small step at a time, it should progress steadily. Thanks!

Have you made any progress. I am working on something similar but it is a real time game. I noticed that you are in Savannah. I live in Statesboro GA about 45 miles away.

Unfortunately, I've made no progress at all. I got frustrated and went back to working on a 1st person RPG. I was hoping to do a 'board game' style game similar to Heroscape, but it proved to be too much for me.
A 1st person RPG is easier with Torque.
If you'd still like to work on a project I'd love to help, or have help with mine. Either way, let me know. Bye!
Thanks!

Chess could be made very easily in TGB, I have considered doing it for fun, if you want a 3d look just render out animation frames for you pieces from 3d models.
