Exporting Textures from Maya

by Jan Guilfoyle · in Artist Corner · 02/13/2007 (9:22 am) · 4 replies

I have figured out how to get my textures to show up in Torque. But do they always have to be external .jpg or .png. If I were to create a texture in Maya, and put for example some reflection or specular effects is there any way I can export this to be .jpg or a .png in my torque directory.

My concern is that textures that I have just made in photoshop look quite flat on my objects in Torque.

Thanks for any help.

Reflection and specular effects are shader features. You would define them as materials (for TGEA). Your UV map is a single texture. Multitexture support would be nice, but is not included.

Alright thanks. Maybe in the next edition, eh? ;)

I can't figure out how to get my textures to export/show in show tool or torque. Any help? They are applied as .png files in maya. I'm sure its something to do with my file structure!
