Bizarre Folder Corruption Bug

I'm not sure if the problem here lies within Torque X, Visual Studio Express or somewhere in Windows XP, but I'm having a problem whenever I try to aceess the data/images folder of my torque X project. Whatever application is trying to browse that folder (TXE, Photoshop, Windows Explorer), it crashes immediately upon displaying the contents of the directory. There's no crash error window or anything. The app in question simply disappears.
Has anyone else run into this problem?

Sounds like the structure in the file system got corrupted. Do you get this behaviour after rebooting the computer?

I think it ended up having something to do with .NET having residual pointers to images that were deleted out from under it. It took a couple of reboots and removing those files manually from the .NET project file, but things seem somewhat stable now.
