Hi all, I'm curious what everyone does to create or otherwise get textures for particles and other environments such as rain drops, fire, smoke, etc? Are they easy to make or is there a place to purchase a batch of them?

Texture Maker is on absolutely amazing program for generating your textures. I'd advise you give it a thorough try!Amr

I paint them in Photoshop, but a free program like GIMP works just as well. With particle effects, its the overall visual of the emitter in action, not the individual particles that are important.
Take a look at the particles that come in the free demo, very simple, yet effective.
