Tribes gets honorable multiplayer mention ...

Just checked out the Quantum Leap awards for multiplayer gaming on Gamasutra. There were a lot of amazing games on there ... some of my favorites! Tribes got a mention along with a lot of other revolutionary titles. I till have the box for Tribes in near perfect condition and I heard there's still a player base of 17,500 ... I think I'm going ot have to log in some more time with it.

I liked the list except that BF1942 was above Tribes on it. Not that I dislike BF1942 per se, jsut that everything they credit it with bringing to the table is stuff T1 did several years earlier.

Doesn't matter to me who did it first, but who did it best. With that said, I still liked Tribes better than BF1942. The latter never fealt new to me.

Ever wonder if someone would be able to play BF1942 over a modem.
I played Tribes that way...
