Where is the best place to get a server?

Where (in your opinion) is the best place to rent a server to use for my game? My game is a FPS game and was built off of the FPS Starter Kit. I need a a server for the multiplayer part of my game. Where is the best place to get a server? It doesn't have to be dedicated ether...

I think most (all?) server hosts will insist a game is hosted on a dedicated machine, unless it's a well-proven standard (commercial) game that is trusted not to crash the server. There's lots of options.. it's worth shopping around as the prices vary wildly. You'll pay through the nose if you want Windows hosting though.

Shoot me an email. I host linux boxes.

What exactly does a linux server need in order for me to be able to install my game on it (Software wise)?

If it's a TGE game you will need to compile your engine on it... it's very easy and done in less than an hour. :) Read the docs for the necessary packages.

Do I need anything else installed on the server?
