Record a movie?

Hi,
is there a simple way to record movies about your game(I mean not the demorecord functions) for example for google video?

I don't believe that there is. There are a couple of linux projects that looked promising back in the day, but I haven't followed them enough to even remember their names. You could do a Google and Sourceforge search and get TGE up and running in Linux for your tests.

Fraps is worth the cost, though, as is Bullents and GameCam.

Camstasia is a commercial product that has half the bling of Bullents for five times the cost. HyperCam used to include spyware in the free version (or at least AdAware and SpyBot would go insane when installing and running it), but I don't think it had any problem in the $30 version. I never picked it up because I do not support companies that seem to include spyware.

HyperCam works well for window captures, which is what we use Bullents for here at the University (the gave us a free license for all of our machines to get their name on the lips of people making demos and Powerpoints; and it worked for the CIS department in their design methods classes).

I completely spaced VirtualDub, though. I'm not sure how. Nice piece of open source software.
