Heh, Tim Aste posted a picture with him, John Romero, and Adam DeGrandis from GDC 2006. Looks like he took it down though since it doesn't show up in his blog. Shame, it was amusing.

I have read the chinese edition of 'Masters of Doom' written by David Kushner 2 times. We can see the history of idsoftware in the book.

Yeah - was about to post the same. If you are even remotely interested in ID, Doom and how it all happened in the 80'ies/90'ies, then buy Masters of Doom and read it. Super fun to read.We all start small
