Maya2DTS Scene Setup

I am working with some objects that upwards of 150m x 200m x 45m . I am using maya2dts in maya8.
The problem is that when I go into the exporter and go to "set all units" my scene becomes difficult to work in because of how large the objects are.
When I position the camera so that the entire object is on the screen polygons begin to flicker in and out. Lots of jaggies appear along the edges of polygons and edges pop through polygons.
I know this is the result of the settings the exporter sets.
Is there any one setting that I can change that will resolve the issue?
thanks

this is a know issue with maya and has nothing to do with the exporter.

Try to always keep the maya near clipping plane @ 1.0 or higher. otherwise maya wil flicker. if you object is so big it is being cut off try changin the far cliping plane to 10Kthis is a know issue with maya and has nothing to do with the exporter.
